Pre-Treatment
Avoid taking Aspirin, Advil, Ibuprofen or any other anti-inflammatory medications 48 hours before your appointment.
Day of Treatment
- A revolutionary technology called FACES (Functional Aspiration Controlled Electrothermal Stimulation) results in energy deposited deep in the skin without affecting the skin’s surface and virtually without pain. Skin is gently drawn into the tip of the handpiece. Energy is delivered resulting in a gentle warming of the deeper layers of the skin.
- Although most patients report a gentle warming sensation, discomfort, even mild discomfort is rare.
After Care
- Cool packs or cool, wet compresses may be used; avoid ice packs
- Avoid hot water for 24 hours
- Minimize sun exposure following treatment for one week. Use sun block SPF 30+ for unavoidable sun exposure.
- Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting. The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary treatment site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with any procedure there is a risk of infection.
