What is Botox?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that is administered in a simple non-surgical procedure to temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines in people 18-65.  The treatment is minimally invasive and non-surgical. It requires no recovery time and causes little discomfort.

Pre-Treatment

Avoid taking Aspirin, Advil, Ibuprofen or any other anti-inflammatory medications 48 hours before your appointment.

Day of Treatment

• Dr. Ali makes a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause the frown lines between your brows. No anesthesia is required.

• The entire procedure takes 10-15 minutes.

• Discomfort is minimal – most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite.

• You may resume normal activity immediately.

After Care Instructions

• Keep your head up right for 4-6 hours after your procedure.

• Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours.  

• DO NOT massage the area.

• The most common side effects following injection include temporary eyelid droop and nausea. Localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection.
