What is the Contour Lift?

The Contour Lift is an innovative procedure that diminishes the signs of aging.
It is a minimally invasive procedure that has been in use for over a decade through a variety of styles.
This procedure can be used for both men and women and can be used on the mid-face, jowls, and neck.
The Contour Lift uses “threads” that adhere to the tissues of the face and cause a lifting effect.
Although this procedure is commonly referred to as non-surgical, it is in fact a surgery.
This procedure is performed here at WellMedica by Dr. Ali.
You will be given medication to take at home before your procedure.
You must be driven to and from your procedure.
You will be given local anesthesia to minimize any discomfort.
A thread will be inserted into the area treated, it will be anchored somewhere on the scalp to lift the area.
One side will be done and then the other to assure symmetry.
The procedure will take approximately 2 hours to complete.
Once it is done your face will be wrapped under your chin and over your head to help reduce swelling.
It must be kept wrapped for 3 days.
Once surgery is complete you will remain at WellMedica for observation until all anesthesia has worn off.
When Dr. Ali has approved you may be driven home.
You will return to WellMedica 7-10 days after your procedure for a follow up and to have your sutures removed.
You can return to work 2-5 days after your procedure.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

Your medications will be Xanax, Ciprofloxacin, Sinecch and Acyclovir (only if you have a history of cold sores). All of the medication will have instructions on them, and need to be brought to your appointment.

The day of your procedure you will need to come in with a clean face (no makeup), and clean hair. Please note, if you need to dye your hair it needs to be done a few days before your treatment, or 6 weeks after.

You must be driven and picked up from your procedure, it will last approximately 2 hours.

Post-treatment Instruction

Once your procedure is done your face will be wrapped under your chin and over your head. You will need to keep it wrapped for 3 days.

Twitching in the eye area is normal for several hours after treatment, due to the local anesthesia.

The area must be kept clean and dry for 24 hours after your procedure. Care must be taken when washing or brushing hair.

It is best to sleep with head at a 45 degree angle. No sleeping on your stomach or side for 3 weeks, or your threads may be dislodged.

Avoid excessive or exaggerated facial expressions. Example: opening the mouth too wide. Likewise, excessive jaw movements and chewing may dislodge the threads and you may lose the lift effect. Broad, full motions of the corners of the mouth will tend to dislodge the lifting threads. Avoid any excessive smiling for 3 weeks. Try to avoid sneezing, crying and coughing for 3 weeks.

You may use cold wash cloth compresses applied very gently to the brow, cheeks and jowls for 10 minutes, 3 times a day for the first 3 days to alleviate any discomfort. Be very careful not to press too firmly against the skin or you could dislodge the effects of the facelift threads.

You can take Advil 800mg 3 times a day with food for pain. Avoid taking aspirin and vitamin E for 2-3 weeks. Your medications should be taken as prescribed.

ABSOLUTELY no rubbing of the treated area for 3 weeks. Rubbing of the skin will dislodge the threads and you may lose the lift effect. You may only pat the skin gently while cleansing, touching or applying make-up to the treated area for 3 three weeks.

You can not exercise for 72 hours after treatment, and then you can begin gentle exercises. Avoid all heavy exercise and straining for 3 weeks after your procedure, so that you don’t compromise the lift effect.

You can not have a facial, massage, waxing, or your hair dyed for 6 weeks after treatment.
