Fat Transfer
What is Fat transfer?
- Fat Transfer refers to the process of taking fat from one area of your body and injecting it into another.
- It is used to fill in depressions, wrinkles or to add fullness to face or body.
- Some of the fat that is transferred will be reabsorbed by the body, because of this there is a need to “overcorrect” or inject more fat than is needed.
- The reasoning behind that is Dr. Ali knows that after a few weeks the final result will be to your liking.
- If she injects less you will be happy with the initial result, but will become disappointed over time as the transfer “fades”.
- The fat will be removed from a donor site, the fat is removed by being sucked out manually with a large syringe.
- The fat will then be re-injected to your desired site.
Pre-Treatment
- Before your procedure you will have to come in and pick up your medications.
- Your medications will be Xanax, Ciproflocaxin, Sinecch and Acyclovir (only if you have a history of cold sores). All of the medications will have instructions on them and need to be brought to you appointment.
- The day of your procedure it would be a good idea for you to be driven to and picked up from your appointment, it will last approximately 2 hours.
Post-Treatment
- Once your procedure is done you will need to wear a bandage/neck strap for 2-3 days depending on where the fat was injected. You will be sore in the donor site area, this site will also have a dressing on it.
- You can expect swelling and even bruising on your face or area worked on.
- Twitching in the eye area may occur for several hours after your treatment, due to the local anesthetic.
- You can take Advil 800mg 3 times a day with food for pain. Avoid taking aspirin and Vitamin E for 2-3 weeks. Your medications should be taken as prescribed.
