Injectable Lipolysis/Mesotherapy
What is Injectable Lipolysis/ Mesotherapy*?
- Injectable Lipolysis/Mesotherapy is the latest scientific breakthrough in the treatment of cellulite and skin rejuvenation available today.
- For cellulite reduction and area fat reduction, it is a blessing. It is a safe, noninvasive procedure that has been commonly practiced in Europe, especially France, for the past 50 years and is just taking hold in the United States. It is cutting edge beauty available today.
- Injectable Lipolysis/Mesotherapy is a medical area of expertise which involves injecting microscopic quantities of homeopathic agents, natural plant extracts, vitamins, and pharmaceutical agents into the skin to treat various conditions.
- Injectable Lipolysis/Mesotherapy can be used to treat a variety of conditions such as weight loss, cellulite, spot reduction, and skin rejuvenation.
What is treatment like?
- Topical Numbing cream will be applied 1 hour before your treatment to the area being worked on. During your consultation Dr. Ali will decide if you will be able to apply the topical numbing cream at home or if you will need to come in an hour before your appointment to have it applied at WellMedica.
- Dr. Ali will perform Injectable Lipolysis/Mesotherapy on the area numbed.
- Dr. Ali will inject a “fat burning” agent into the area using a series of tiny injections. Because of the topical numbing cream applied the discomfort is minimized.
- After Dr. Ali is finished you will have an ultrasound on the area to help minimized discomfort and disperse the “fat burning” agent.
- You will need to use a compression garment to keep the area compressed, this will minimize swelling.
What will I need?
Before your appointment you will need to come in and purchase:
- Numbing cream if you will be applying it at home.
- Sinecch, it is a medication you can buy at WellMedica it will minimize bruising and swelling and is recommended for your injectable lipolysis/mesotherapy procedure.
- Compression garment must be used after treatment. It can be purchased before appointment or same day. Remember to bring to appointment if purchased before.
*Mesotherapy is the terminology used in Europe/South America

Pre-Treatment
- Avoid taking Aspirin, Advil, Vitamin E, Ginseng, Ginkgo or other known blood thinners one week prior to your appointment to minimize bruising.
- You must begin hydrating yourself with water or flavored sugar-free water the day BEFORE the treatment. One liter of water daily is recommended.
- Take the first SinEcch capsule the day before or the morning of your appointment. (It’s the first of the three odd-colored ones.)
- Shower before your appointment. With any procedure, infection is a possibility so make sure to keep the area treated clean and dry at all times.
- Apply one thin coat of the numbing cream 1 hour ahead of your appointment time, or come into the office 1 hour before your appointment to have it applied. Keep numbing cream refrigerated. Please Note: if you are on your menstrual cycle you may experience more discomfort during the procedure.
- Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing on the day of treatment.
- You must bring your support garment to the appointment. It will be worn directly after the treatment for five to seven days.
Post-Treatment
- Compliance is key. Remember that good results will require at least three to four treatments, four weeks apart.
- Extra-strength Tylenol, or, if necessary, Advil or Motrin can be used for discomfort afterwards. We recommend 800mg of Advil every 8 hours with food for 3 days.
- It is very important to keep hydrated. You should be drinking at least 1 liter of water a day.
- There are no restrictions on exercise.
- Some people experience “lumping” after injectable lipolysis/mesotherapy, use of a hand held massager is helpful to increase circulation. This is encouraged. Even if you do not do anything, the “lumping” will dissipate over time. Dr. Ali uses an ultra sound device after each inectable lipolysis/mesotherapy treatment to minimize this.
- Extended bruising or “brown discoloration” in the area treated is also a common complaint. This is especially prominent in people who are on some form of iron supplementation.
- Some patients can have a local “allergic” reaction to ingredients used for cellulite and/ or fat. Some redness and itching similar to that experienced with hives can occur. Rest assured that this is normal. This usually lasts two to three days and can be treated with an antihistamine (Zyrtec, Claritin, Benadryl) and a topical hydrocortisone cream. If however, blisters, sores, oozing of any kind and/or fever/chills develop – this is NOT normal and may indicate infection. You must contact the office if this occurs.
You can schedule your Injectable Lipolysis/Mesotherapy sessions 4 weeks apart.
