Botox Hyperhidrosis (Botox for Sweating)
Botox is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating when topical agents don't work. Botox treatment helps control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. When the seat glands don't receive chemical signals, the severe sweating stops. At Wellmedica we do Botox Hyperhidrosis which helps in reducing excessive sweating. Botox hyperhidrosis is also referred as botox for sweating.
The procedure is a simple one. Dr. Ali uses an ultra fine needle to precisely inject small amounts of Botox into the affected underarm areas. Discomfort is minimal and brief. No sedation or local anesthetic is required and you may resume your normal day’s activities right away.
You should notice a reduction in underarm sweating within 4 weeks of your first treatment.
Botox in this area can last up to 6 months. After this time your symptoms will return gradually, and your will know it's time for another treatment. Dr. Ali will decide on a treatment strategy specifically for you, so that you receive the best possible results.
If you decide not to have further treatment there will be no lasting change in the treated areas. The effects of Botox treatment will gradually wear off, and your underarm sweating will resume.
