Keep reading to learn more!

What is Ultherapy?

For many doctors who are pioneers in the aesthetic world – Ultherapy is the next evolution in cosmetic technology. Ultherapy is a non-surgical procedure that bypasses the surface of the skin, and will deliver ultrasound energy to a specific area. This technology goes deeper than lasers, and actually reaches the structural tissues where collagen lives.  This then results in a natural regenerative response which causes collagen to grow and the skin to become rejuvenated. This process is called – neocollagenesis – the production of natural collagen.  The procedure has been featured on Dr. Oz, and has also made quite the splash in Hollywood, from Kim Kardashian to Christie Brinkley undergoing Ultherapy.

Benefits of Ultherapy

As stated earlier, it is the only non-invasive procedure that is FDA approved to lift the skin.  It has great effects on the skin counteracting the effects of gravity and age. We can use this treatment to lift the skin around the eyebrows, under the chin, neck, and smooth the lines throughout the face. It is also the only FDA approved non-invasive procedure to improve lines and wrinkles on the chest. Ultherapy is a great treatment for many areas on the body, making it one of the ultimate anti-aging procedures on the market today.

How Long Will It Take to Notice the Results of Ultherapy?

Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology. Therefore, it works from the inside and out to gradually build collagen.  Once can expect to see the full effect of Ultherapy over 2-3 months.  However, many continue to see improvement even 6 months after initial treatment.

How Long Will the Treatment Take?

This solely depends on the area being treated with Ultherapy, and the individual treatment plan that is customized to fit your needs.  Face and neck can take between 60-90 minutes. Most patients only require one treatment of Ultherapy.  However, this depends on the degree of skin laxity, and the patient’s biological response to ultrasound energy – therefore, some patients may be recommended more.  Future touch-ups can also help patients keep up with natural aging process that is inevitable.

Is There Any Downtime?

As this is a non-surgical treatment there is no downtime for Ultherapy. You can resume normal activity and go right back to work directly after the treatment.

Will Ultherapy Give Me the Results of a Facelift?

Many of the benefits, like lifting, can make patients believe that this treatment is an alternative to a surgical facelift.  This is true; it is a great alternative to patients that are wary of going under the knife. Surgery is a big commitment.  There is a lot of downtime, pain, and money involved with surgery. Many of our patients turn to Ultherapy as a non-surgical option to a facelift.  However, it cannot promise to perfectly duplicate the results that come along with surgery.  A facelift is the result of removing excess skin allowing for more lifting and tightening.  Therefore, one must understand what exactly they are looking for in treatment before moving forward.

Going to the Right Doctor

We have found that many patients look for the best price when exploring options for cosmetics. However, if you want amazing results – the most important factor would be finding the right doctor.  The right doctor would be someone that you feel comfortable with, and is board certified. They also have many years of experience in cosmetics and are extremely knowledgeable in their field.  This is the most important factor in achieving your desired results.
