UltraClear™ can also be used to treat unwanted scars. This system is highly effective for treating scars on face and body, including those caused by trauma, surgery, acne, and burns. The treatment of some scars may require a combination of medical or surgical intervention with laser treatment.

UltraClear™ is also a popular treatment for skin rejuvenation. Traditional skin resurfacing lasers are typically limited in use due to the high risk of scaring and other complications. Because of the minimal amount of thermal injury that the UltraClear™ laser produces, it is extremely versatile and can be used on the face, neck, arms, and other areas to improve skin texture and color on all skin types.

 

Depending on your goals, Dr Dima may recommend a series of 3DMIRACL™ treatments or a combination utilizing multiple UltraClear™ modes to address deeper lines, wrinkles, and scars on the face and body. After a single UltraClear™ laser treatment, patients notice improvements in their skin in as little as 2 days. Deeper resurfacing results can last anywhere from 1 - 5 years.

Before Treatment

  • Stay away from the sun for at least 3-4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Stop using exfoliating products at least 1 week prior to treatment.
  • Keep your skin protected with SPF 30+ daily.
  • Increase water intake.

During Treatment

UltraClear™ laser treatments often take only 15 minutes, and no anesthetic cream is required for our patients to stay comfortable during treatment. After cleansing your skin, the UltraClear™ “cold laser" handpiece is guided over the treatment area.

After Treatment

  • Slight warm feeling like sunburn sensation for a few hours post-procedure.
  • Mild redness
  • Mild pain
  • Slight swelling (typical with deeper UltraClear™ modes)
  • Pinpoint bleeding (typical with deeper UltraClear™ modes)

3DMIRACL™

Since the treatment is superficial in the uppermost layer pf skin with no dermal exposure, minimal downtime is required. The skin may appear slightly red and swollen for a few hours post-procedure.

Deep UltraClear™

Using deeper customized modes will expose your dermis layer, which requires 2 - 3 days of downtime. Redness, mild swelling, and possible pinpoint bleeding in the areas treated more deeply may be experienced. Compared to other resurfacing devices, the downtime is very minimal.

 

RECOMMENDED TO AVOID (DAYS 1 & 2):

  • NO sunscreen on days 1 or 2.
  • NO alcohol, spicy, or hot foods until day 2.
  • NO exercise: defer activity until redness or swelling subside on day 3.
  • NO sun or any environmental exposures like wind, extreme cold, and ocean water.
  • NO product use other than those recommended or given to you by your provider.
  • NO cosmetics, unless you have a “new” brush or product. Previously used cosmetics may harbor bacteria that can cause infection. Otherwise, you may apply cosmetics on days 2 - 3 if comfortable.
  • NO ice (especially frozen vegetable packets) directly on the skin, especially if you are still numb from pre-treatment topical analgesic mixture, immediately post-treatment. There is no way to ensure what you got from the grocery store freezer is “clean”.
  • NO ice/ice baths for 72 hours. Cold water is fine. Ice after 72 hours can increase swelling. This includes “small” ice packs. The skin should be cooled evenly with a full mask or a moist, cooled hand towel. Covering the full treatment with small ice packs in isolated areas may promote uneven healing and leave hot spots.
  • NO cleansers or products with acids, high alcohol content, botanicals, or multiple ingredient menus. The more ingredients on the label, the harder it will be to extrapolate what caused a negative reaction post-treatment.
  • NO direct contact with pets, unclean surfaces, or touching treatment areas during the healing/sloughing process. Clean towels, pillowcases, and surface areas touching treatment zones are a must.

RECOMMENDED TO AVOID (DAYS 3 - 5):

  • NO prescription or acid-based products until your practitioner has cleared you for use. This could be anywhere from day 5 to 14 depending on the depth and degree of your treatment.
  • NO picking, rubbing, scrubbing, or exfoliating while the skin is sloughing.
  • NO prescription medications (like retinols) or adjunct laser treatments until you are cleared by your treating provider.
  • NO direct contact with pets, unclean surfaces, or touching treatment areas during healing/sloughing process. Clean towels, pillowcases, and surface areas touching treatment zones are a must.
